Mary Rancier, Policy Manager and Tresten Keys, Safety & Regulatory Affairs Manager alongside the Safety and Health Council, have prepared a toolkit to serve as a resource for Safety & HR Professionals, organizations, and the construction industry, that includes key messages, resources, trainings, and webinars and more. Employee assistance programs (EAPs) are one-way companies can support the well-being of team members. EAPs can help employees resolve issues that could impact their lives. Good EAPs can contribute to employees’ productivity, personal wellness, and organizational success. Rob Ford, Sr. Vice President of USI Insurance Services, will be discussing the importance of EAPs, what to look for in potential programs during open enrollment and more. Rob will also review employee benefits offered through USI Insurance Services. Q&A will follow the presentation.

Tresten Keys, Safety & Regulatory Affairs Manager, AGC of California
Tresten Keys is a dedicated advocate for safety and regulatory excellence, currently serving as the Safety and Regulatory Affairs Manager at Associated General Contractors of California (AGC). With a solid foundation in the field, Tresten holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Safety and Health Management from Central Washington University. As a prominent liaison with Cal/OSHA, Tresten plays a crucial role in ensuring that construction practices align with stringent safety guidelines, thereby safeguarding the well-being of workers and the industry as a whole. However, Tresten's commitment to his profession goes beyond the confines of his job title. He possesses an unwavering passion for addressing a critical issue often overlooked in the construction industry: mental health and suicide prevention. With a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by construction professionals, Tresten strives to shed light on the importance of mental health awareness and advocate for the well-being of workers.
Mary Alyssa Rancier, Policy Manager, AGC of California
Mary Alyssa Rancier is the Policy Manager at Associated General Contractors (AGC) of California. She has been with AGC of CA since January 2021. She has worked closely with environmental regulation and advocating on behalf of the construction industry. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis on research and statistics from California State University, Sacramento. She is passionate about utilizing her expertise in research to effectively advocate for industry concerns to shape policy.
Rob Ford, Senior Vice President Employee Benefits, USI Insurance Services
Rob Ford has almost 25 years of experience in Employee Benefits. He currently serves as Vice President in Employee Benefits at USI Insurance Services and works out of the Rancho Cordova office. Rob has had prior experience as the Vice President of Sales with a national packaging company out of the San Francisco area. Rob managed sixty-five sales representatives that had territories from Bakersfield, CA to the Oregon border. He was on the company’s Executive Committee and played a key role in their success. He had managed his team through a merger and two acquisitions, until he finally decided to change fields. Rob has been involved in sales or sales management his entire 38-year career. Rob’s current position with USI enables him to work with over one hundred clients and manage all aspects of their Employee Benefits. He has become a specialist in association business working with approximately 15 associations in California. They have guaranteed issue insurances for medical, dental, vision, life, and ad&d insurances in those associations. Rob graduated from LaSalle University in Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Rob has been married to his wife, Dana, for 32 years and they have three grown daughters. He enjoyed playing basketball his whole life and recently has picked up pickle ball. He is an avid golfer and he and Dana enjoy travelling. He has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters for over 30 years serving as a past Board Chair and currently holds a position on their Foundation. He has been involved in Rotary for 10 years and enjoys fundraising for their local causes.
